  • Canada is imposing a 100% tariff on electric car imports from China
Canada and its Western allies accuse China of subsidizing the electric car industry. Because of that car manufacturers are getting unfair advantage in the market.
After the United States and the European Union (EU), Canada is going to impose additional tariffs on the import of electric cars from China. The country also plans to impose 25 percent tariffs on Chinese steel and aluminum imports.

Canada echoes its Western allies in complaining that China subsidizes the electric car industry. As a result car manufacturers are getting unfair advantage in the market.

China says Canada's decision to impose tariffs is trade protectionism. This violates the rules of the World Trade Organization.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said, “We are transforming the country's automotive industry to become a global market leader in building the cars of tomorrow. But countries like China have chosen to give themselves an unfair advantage in the global market in this sector.”

According to the BBC, Canada's tariffs on Chinese-made electric cars will come into effect on October 1, and tariffs on steel and aluminum will come into effect on October 15.

A spokesman for China's Ministry of Commerce said Canada's move has seriously undermined the global economic system and economic and trade policy. They say China has called on Canada to immediately correct its wrongdoings.

  • The Taliban celebrated the third anniversary of coming to power

Afghanistan celebrates its third anniversary of coming to power. Military parades and tributes were part of the celebrations.

    Al Jazeera news.
Taliban militias drag Soviet-run tanks and artillery pieces through Bagram. The site was previously used as a US air base.

Hundreds of people gathered to hear the parade and speeches on Wednesday. Chinese and Iranian diplomats were also invited.

The Taliban seized Kabul on 15 August 2021 after the US-backed government collapsed. Many leaders fled during the change of power. According to the Afghan calendar, the anniversary is celebrated a day earlier, on August 14.

No country has yet recognized the Taliban government. In Afghanistan, the Taliban have imposed various restrictions on women. The UN calls it 'gender apartheid'. This is a major obstacle for other countries to recognize the Taliban government.

A 20-year-old former university student in Kabul told news agency AFP that three years have passed since the girls' dream burial. Every year this day is celebrated by reminding our efforts, memories and goals for the future. Its experience is somewhat bitter.

The prime minister of the Taliban government, Mohammad Hassan Akhund, was scheduled to attend Bagram. His chief of staff read out his statement. In the statement, he hailed the Taliban's victory against the 'Western occupiers'.

He said that it is the responsibility of the Taliban government to protect Islamic rule, property, people's lives and the honor of the nation. #solpal #newsbox #newspoint #taleban #afganisthan
