Israeli troops handed the body of a Palestinian man arrested hours earlier in the occupied West Bank to Palestinian health authorities on Monday, as a major operation in the flashpoint city of Jenin continued for a sixth day.

The Palestinian Red Crescent said it had received the body of 58 year-old Ayman Rajeh Abed from the village of Kafr Dan, just outside Jenin after he was arrested around dawn on Monday. The director of the Wissam Bakr hospital in Jenin said the body bore signs of beatings and torture.

The Israeli military said Abed had been detained during counterterrorism operations and experienced a "cardiac event" on arrival at a detention facility. He was given initial treatment by medical staff from the military, before being evacuated to the hospital in Jenin.

The polio vaccination campaign will begin tomorrow in Deir el-Balah, coordinated by Gaza’s Health Ministry, UNICEF, UNRWA, and WHO, following Israel's agreement to "humanitarian pauses" in this area.

However, other parts of Gaza will continue to experience Israeli attacks and bombardments, leaving Palestinians questioning when the genocide will end.

Pox is not a new COVID-19: WHO

The empox outbreak is not a new covid, says the World Health Organization. Much is already known about the virus as well as ways to control it.

Type 1B of the organism requires further research. The United Nations agency has declared a Global Health Emergency, or PHEIC, for the strain of the virus.

WHO European Director Hans Kluge said on Tuesday that the spread of empox can be controlled.

In July 2022, the WHO declared a global health emergency for low-transmissibility empox. Homosexual and bisexual men were more infected. The warning was later lifted in May 2023.

Clouse insists that empox is not a new covid. "We know how to control MPOX," he said. Necessary measures should be taken to completely eradicate its infection in the European region.
