আওয়ামী লীগকে নিষিদ্ধ করার দাবিতে রিট আবেদন
যেসব প্রতিষ্ঠান শেখ হাসিনার নামে রয়েছে, সেগুলোর নাম পরিবর্তনের কথাও বলা হয়েছে আবেদনে।
কোটা সংস্কার আন্দোলন চলাকালে ছাত্র-জনতাকে ‘নির্বিচারে হত্যার’ অভিযোগে আওয়ামী লীগকে নিষিদ্ধ এবং দলটির নিবন্ধন বাতিল চেয়ে হাই কোর্টে একটি রিট আবেদন হয়েছে।

‘সারডা সোসাইটি’ নামের একটি মানবাধিকার সংগঠনের পক্ষে নির্বাহী পরিচালক আরিফুর রহমান মুরাদ ভূঁইয়া সোমবার এ রিট আবেদন করেন।

সাংবাদিকদের তিনি বলেন, “রাষ্ট্র সংস্কারের লক্ষ্যে বর্তমান অন্তর্বর্তী সরকারের মেয়াদ সর্বনিম্ন তিন বছর করা, ছাত্র-জনতাকে নির্বিচারে হত্যার দায়ে বাংলাদেশ আওয়ামী লীগকে নিষিদ্ধ ও নিবন্ধন বাতিল, বিদেশে পাচার করা ১১ লাখ কোটি টাকা ফেরত আনার নির্দেশনা চাওয়া হয়েছে রিট আবেদনে।”
যেসব প্রতিষ্ঠান শেখ হাসিনার নামে রয়েছে, সেগুলোর নাম পরিবর্তনের কথাও বলা হয়েছে আবেদনে।

এছাড়া বিগত আওয়ামী লীগ সরকারের আমলে পিএসসির চেয়ারম্যানসহ সব ক্ষেত্রে চুক্তিভিত্তিক নিয়োগ পাওয়া সব কর্মকর্তা, চলমান প্রশাসনের সব বিভাগীয় কমিশনার, ডিসি, ইউএনওসহ বাংলাদেশ পুলিশের সব বিভাগীয় কমিশনার, এসপি ও ওসিদের বদলি করে বিচার বিভাগীয় নিরপেক্ষ তদন্ত কমিশন গঠন করার নির্দেশনা চাওয়া হয়েছে।

মন্ত্রিপরিষদ সচিব, রাষ্ট্রপতি কার্যালয়ের জনবিভাগের সচিব, দুর্নীতি দমন কমিশনের চেয়ারম্যান, আইন সচিব, নির্বাচন কমিশন সচিব, ব্যাংক ও আর্থিক প্রতিষ্ঠান বিভাগের সচিব, জাতীয় রাজস্ব বোর্ডের চেয়ারম্যান, বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংকের গভর্নর, বিএফআইইউ প্রধান এবং বৈষম্যবিরোধী ছাত্র আন্দোলনের সমন্বয়ক ও সহ-সমন্বয়কদের বিবাদী করা হয়েছে মামলায়।
বিচারপতি এ কে এম আসাদুজ্জামান ও বিচারপতি মুহম্মদ মাহবুব-উল ইসলামের বেঞ্চে এ আবেদনের শুনানি হবে জানিয়ে আরিফুর রহমান বলেন, “আদালত বলেছেন, আগামী কাল শুনানি হবে।”

‘পিকেপি’ নামে পরিচিত এক অদ্ভুত ভূকম্পীয় সংকেত কয়েক দশক ধরে বিভ্রান্ত করে চলেছে বিজ্ঞানীদের, যা পৃথিবীর কেন্দ্রের মধ্যে দিয়ে ভ্রমণ করে এমন ভূমিকম্পের মূল তরঙ্গের আগেই ভূপৃষ্ঠে এসে পৌঁছায়।

দীর্ঘদিন ধরেই এইসব সংকেত রহস্যে মোড়া ছিল বলে প্রতিবেদনে লিখেছে বিজ্ঞানভিত্তিক সাইট নোরিজ। সম্প্রতি রহস্যটি উন্মোচিত হয়েছে ‘ইউনিভার্সিটি অফ ইউটাহ’-এর ভূতাত্ত্বিকদের করা নতুন এক গবেষণায়।


পিকেপি বা এসব সংকেতের পূর্বসূরীরা উত্তর আমেরিকা ও পশ্চিম প্রশান্ত মহাসাগরের নিচের গভীর অঞ্চল থেকে এসেছে বলে ধারণা ছিল বিজ্ঞানীদের।

গবেষকদের দাবি, এইসব সংকেত ‘আল্ট্রা-লো ভেলসিটি জোনস (ইউএলভিজেড)’ বা অতি-নিম্ন বেগের অঞ্চলের সঙ্গে যুক্ত থাকতে পারে। পৃথিবীর ম্যান্টলের পাতলা স্তর এই ‘আল্ট্রা-লো ভেলসিটি জোনস (ইউএলভিজেড)’, যেখানে ভূমিকম্পের বিভিন্ন তরঙ্গ নাটকীয়ভাবে ধীর হয়ে যায়।

এ গবেষণাটি প্রকাশিত হয়েছে বিজ্ঞানভিত্তিক জার্নার ‘এজিইউ অ্যাডভান্সেস’-এ। গবেষণায় ইঙ্গিত মিলেছে, ইয়েলোস্টোন, হাওয়াইয়ান দ্বীপপুঞ্জ ও আইসল্যান্ডের মতো বড় আগ্নেয়গিরির হটস্পট গঠনে ভূমিকা রাখতে পারে এসব ইউএলভিজেড।

“পৃথিবীতে এখনপযন্ত আবিষ্কার হওয়া চরম বৈশিষ্ট্যের মধ্যে এগুলো অন্যতম। আমরা আসলে জানি না এগুলো কী,” বলেছেন এ গবেষণার প্রধান লেখক ও ‘ইউনিভার্সিটি অফ ইউটাহ’-এর ভূতত্ত্ব ও ভূপদার্থবিজ্ঞানের সহযোগী অধ্যাপক মাইকেল থর্ন।

থর্ন ও তার গবেষণা দল আবিষ্কার করেন, এসব ইউএলভিজেড প্রায়শই আগ্নেয়গিরির হটস্পটের নিচে জড়ো হতে থাকে। ফলে গবেষকদের দাবি, ম্যান্টলের বিভিন্ন প্লামের মূল হতে পারে এইসব অঞ্চল, যা এই বড় আকারের ও নাছোড়বান্দা প্রকৃতির আগ্নেয়গিরি তৈরি করে।

থর্নের গবেষণা দলটি ৫৮টি ভূমিকম্পের তথ্য খতিয়ে দেখতে উন্নত ভূকম্পীয় প্রযুক্তির কৌশল ব্যবহার করেছে, যা ঘটেছিল অস্ট্রেলিয়ার দ্বীপ ‘নিউ গিনি’র কাছে ও রেকর্ড করা হয়েছিল উত্তর আমেরিকায়।

টাকা তোলার প্রচলিত বিভিন্ন পদ্ধতির চেয়ে নিরাপদ হিসাবে বিবেচিত হয়ে থাকে ডিজিটাল ওয়ালেট। তবে ‘ইউনিভার্সিটি অফ ম্যাসাচুসেটস আমহার্স্ট’-এর নতুন গবেষণায় এমন একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ নিরাপত্তা ত্রুটির বিষয়ে প্রকাশ পেয়েছে, যা গ্রাহকদের ব্যবহৃত বিভিন্ন ক্রেডিট বা ডেবিট কার্ডকে ঝুঁকিতে ফেলতে পারে। এমনকি যারা ডিজিটাল ওয়ালেট ব্যবহার করেন না তাদের বেলাতেও।
