Security adviser of Reuters killed in Ukraine, 2 journalists injured

The deceased Ryan Evans is a former British soldier. He was working as a security advisor to Reuters since 2022.
A member of the Reuters war news team was killed in a missile attack on a hotel in the eastern Ukrainian city of Kramatorsk. Two journalists of the news agency were injured in the attack.

Reuters said in a statement on Sunday that a six-member Reuters team was staying at Hotel Sapphire in Kramatorsk. The hotel was attacked by missiles on Saturday.

Ryan Evans, who was killed, worked as a security adviser for Reuters. One of the two injured journalists was seriously injured. Both of them are being treated in the hospital.

"We are urgently trying to get information about the attack, and are working with the authorities in Kramatorsk," Reuters said.

In addition, Reuters authorities expressed their condolences to the family of their slain colleague.
