Talks underway to resolve Gaza ceasefire hurdles: US
The US National Security Adviser claimed that the cross-border war between Israel and Hezbollah had no effect on the Cairo talks.
U.S. National Security Adviser John Kerby said talks in Cairo, Egypt, to reach a ceasefire and hostage deal in Gaza are still ongoing and progressing.

Speaking to reporters in a virtual briefing, Karbi rejected allegations that ceasefire talks had broken down, saying the talks were "constructive", Reuters reported.

He said that US President Joe Biden's top aide on Middle East affairs, Brett McGurk, is participating in this discussion.
He said that discussions will continue at the working group level for the next few days to resolve the remaining issues on specific issues.

Among the issues the working groups will address is the exchange of Hamas hostages and Palestinian prisoners, Kirby said.

He further said that how many hostages can be exchanged, their identity and possible time of release, all this has to be settled through detailed discussion.

An investigation by Arabi Post reveals that Egyptian ports have become key transit points for goods between Egypt and Israel during the Gaza genocide.

Over the past three months, 19 ships were tracked moving between Egyptian ports such as Alexandria and Damietta and Israeli ports like Ashdod and Haifa.

During this period, Egypt's imports from Israel nearly tripled, reaching $331.6 million, according to the investigation.

Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune stated yesterday that his country’s army is ready to act as soon as the borders between Egypt and the Gaza Strip are opened.

In his speech on the fourth day of the electoral campaign, Tebboune said from the city of Constantine, northeastern Algeria: "We will not abandon Palestine in general, nor Gaza in particular," adding, "I swear to you by God, if they help us and open the borders between Egypt and Gaza... there is something we can do."

He continued, "I made a promise... and the army is ready. As soon as the borders are opened and our trucks are allowed to enter, we will build 3 hospitals within 20 days, send hundreds of doctors, and help in rebuilding what the Zionists have destroyed."
